Commission Us

We specialize in creating unique experiences for cultural institutions who are interested in developing new audiences and finding new ways to engage their current audiences. Previous clients include the Barnes Foundation, The Galleries at Moore College of Art & Design, and Temple University. Using our skills as game designers, theatrical performers, and researchers we help people see the work that you’re already doing in new and exciting ways!

Present Us

Obvious Agency makes work fit to travel! Whether you’re interested in bringing the work that we’ve already made to your local community or just don’t have the budget to commission a new work, we are always interested in partnering with interesting venues.

If you’re interested in learning more about our extensive experience and unique methodology, we’d love to share it with you.  We run workshops for professional artists, high school, and college students related to developing interactive live experiences. Our workshops often start with foundational game design theory, and are customized to help you understand the unique ways that you can adopt these tools into your own practice.

Are you interested in making an interactive live experience but don’t know where to start? Maybe you know that you want your audience to do more than just sit-back and watch, but need help getting that idea get off the ground. Have you started thinking about things like audience consent? Our co-founders have extensive experience in interactive experiences, and are available for in-person and digital consulting to help make sure your audience feels welcome and safe. Our co-founders have directed and consulted on projects including Ninth Planet’s Honey Honey, and IKantKoan’s Chaos Theory.

As worker-owned cooperative we feel  strongly about the tangible value of the work of women, queer folks, and people of color. But we understand that in American society, the arts are often under-valued and many arts organizations go underfunded. To that end, we offer our work on a sliding scale starting with the rates identified by Working Artists and the Greater Economy (W.A.G.E.), multiplied by 3 (the number of artists on our team). By paying a fee on scale with your organization’s budget, you help make sure that we can partner with the people and organizations who have systematically been denied access to capital and resources. We’re not afraid to talk about money, so if you’re concerned about pricing, reach out to us directly and let’s chat!
